Most people think driving a manual transmission is difficult. However, it’s not much different from an automatic. On a manual you have three pedals, your gas, brake, and clutch. On an automatic you have two pedals, your gas, and brake. The only difference is that on a manual, is that you have to manually put the car into gear, when driving an automatic, you only have to put the shifter into what option you want it in. On an automatic you have your three most used options like park, reverse, and drive. On a basic five speed manual you have five gears, six including reverse. When driving a manual you need to know how to start the car. It’s not very difficult. To start the car you would need to have the car in neutral. Neutral is located in the middle of the gear box. When the car is in neutral you would be able to move the stick shift from left to right, you will also need to have your foot on the brake pedal or the emergency brake pulled up so the car doesn’t roll. Once you put the car in neutral and either have your foot on the brake or the emergency brake pulled up, you are ready to start the car. It just takes a little confidence, even everyday manual drivers stall their cars.
