Wheeling to reclaim his interrupted dream

The shelves of their small house in Hullrive village in Nelamangala is decked with Manoj’s photographs, clad in cadet uniforms and receiving awards. A picture perfect shots of a 14-year old. That’s when life delivered an overdose of sorrows. A car knocked down Manoj, on his way home from school. After a six-month ordeal in hospital, Manoj returned home, in a wheelchair.

Since then, the family has witnessed an upheaval.

When our team met Manoj, he was sinking into depression. He missed his school, his friends, and the daily routine. He would sit all day, at times helping his mother and sisters in weaving doormats. Neither of it made him happy. He wanted to get back to school.
