Manna Foodbank Case Study

Manna FoodBank is made up of hard workers that feed 37,500 meals per day of the year to 16 different countys. Think about waking up every day having to go to work and on the back of your mind your thinking were am I going to get the money for food or just in general get food to have the norits meant to think straight. For Manna FoodBank that is what they think constantly and better forth they think how much food today can we get out to homeless to have them not think of food and that makes a more norst human. Manna FoodBank have been in operation since 1983 helping the homeless in western north carolina. Without Manna FoodBank in western north carolina this area would be very derived of food. The biggest solution for Manna is partnering with agencies to directly provide food to families in the 16 counties that Manna provides to. Another big solution is packs for kids they give out food on fridays for the week ends. In 2015, they gave out 4,946 packs per friday and by february 2016 they reached one million packs for kids. Today there has been a significant increase of the packs because they have gained to many more school districts. Manna is also working with Cantina the restaurant at biltmore village to raise money. They have started a program called "Be Nice With Your Rice," and that program has raised $72,770. With that money Manna can provide 200,000 meals for hungry families. Manna now has this program it is during christmas they have this big christmas tree at the mall that is made out of food that people have donated. That christmas tree is 18 feet tall which is all made out of food.
