Fear tactics are crucial for the audiences to accept information from the media. An example of fear tactic that the producer uses in this ad is when the soccer player’s car loses a part of its tire causing the audiences feel scared about the situation. In addition, after the car rolls over, getting into the little kid’s backyard and completely hitting the little kid. The dad hears a loud noise and quickly runs outside to find his son lying dead on the grass. When the dad finds his son lying dead on the grass, or when the producer shows the grandparents looking worried, this targets parents or other close family members to feel fear that they could face a similar situation. Also, after the kid gets hit by the car, there is a delay of the death, as the producer decides to show the dad running out of the house to give it a dramatic ending causing the audience to feel scared.

The producer of this PSA was able to target anyone who drives a car, anyone who drinks alcohol, and young adults. Many audiences could relate to this particular group of people because they follow under the intended audiences. Also, the producer decides to show a family just like any typical family, with a dad playing a soccer game outside in their backyard making it easier for the audiences to relate since it’s a common type of families.
