Juvenile Delinquency, or also known as teenage crime, is the involvement in illegal behavior by minors. It is like any other crime committed, but these crimes differ since it is accomplished by juveniles. Legal systems offer special procedures to deal with juvenile delinquents such as offering juvenile detention centers and courts. A juvenile delinquent in the United States is considered to be a minor if he is under the age of 17 and commits a crime. There have been times when juveniles have been charged and tried as adults depending on the severity of the crime. Many adolescents have physical and mental problems or even both. An example of having a physical problem can be having a deformity to being simply overweight. Society does not accept people as they are which then leads to bullying and having suicidal thoughts. After this happens, then the victims become depressed which then the psychological problems come into play. Mostly all victims tend to get revenge on the person doing them harm by committing criminal acts against them. The presence of many criminal elements in the neighborhood lead the minor to making very poor decisions. These elements can include the following such as a very high crime rate, which depends on the neighborhood that the minor resides in, drugs, firearms, and youth gangs. Gangs or cliques are very easy to find in an inferior neighborhood. Adolescents join since they have no other choice, either they do it voluntarily or the elders make them. Many young men join these cliques because of the lack of not having a male role model in their family. Parents should always keep up with their children’s companions. If this prevention is made way they will put them to a stop to join any gang with illegal
