Majestic Snow Leopard

Do you know what makes a Snow Leopard a Snow Leopard? The simple things or the complicated things? Stuff like what type of cells they have? How they get their energy? How do they adapt to their environment? I’m going to talk about the seven characteristics of life for the majestic Snow Leopard.
A Snow Leopard is a multicellular organism. It also has eukaryotic cells.
Snow Leopard’s have specialized cells and tissues.
How do they get their energy? Living things normally get their energy by eating. The Snow Leopard’s diet is mainly made up of Marmots, which is a common mountainous sheep that is relatively small in size. The amount of food that they eat daily varies. Their food sources will change based on the season, location of the Snow Leopard,

It reacts to the weather by either matting down or fluffing up its fur to help regulate its body temperature. Also in the rain or the snow it will react by moving to a sheltered area.
Adult Snow Leopards’ can get to a height of 4-5 ft. tall. Their tail can get up to 36 in. long. They can weigh up to 60-120 pounds. A Snow Leopard cub is about 1 pound when it is born and around 10 inches long.
Snow Leopards reproduce sexually. They usually mate in the late winter, marked by an increase in marking and calling. Snow Leopards have a gestation period of 90-100 days. The cubs are born in a rocky den, or any other closed off and sheltered area such as a crevice. The floor is matted with fur that is shed from the mother. There are about 2-3 cubs born per mother. The cubs are born with their eyes shut, and they are completely helpless. Snow Leopard cubs become independent after about 20 months, and become sexually mature around three years old.
In the winter a Snow Leopard’s body fur and tail fur will grow thicker to help them keep warm. They also have big paws that act like snowshoes to make it easier for them to travel in the snow. Its round, short ears reduce heat loss, and the wide, short nasal cavity warms the air before it reaches the cat’s
