Have you ever gone to the doctor and ended up needing to get an MRI? If you have, did you know what it was or what it was meant to do? If you knew what it was for, you probably didn’t know the science behind how it worked.
MRI stands for magnetic resonance imaging. Well an MRI is used for taking pictures to diagnose you. It is used on your chest, abdomen and pelvis. So pregnant women doctors might do a body MRI to safely monitor the baby. The MRI has a strong magnetic field. Which can be dangerous. Your doctors will tell you how to prepare for one.
MRI has this powerful magnetic field called radio waves. Then you might ask what are radio waves. Radio waves are electromagnetic wave of a frequency between about 104 and 1011 or 1012 Hz. Radio

Cat scans and x-rays use radiation but MRI do not use radiation. With the mris there are certain things and waves that help it work and show you whats wrong. They can help save your life my life anyone's life. Water is what we are mostly what we are made up of. We have a lot of hydrogen atoms seems we have a lot of water in us. Hydrogen atoms are special because they are built to react to the mri magnetic field and also it radio waves.
Every hydrogen atom has a nucleus and there's this proton that spins it spins around an axis. The tiny magnetic field gives it a north and south pole.
Do you want to know what the longest wavelength is in the electromagnetic spectrum. Its the radio wave. They are so big they can range from a football field to larger than are planet.
