Young or old, male or female, commoner or royalty, people have goals and aspirations. They achieve these goals by actions. In Macbeth, William Shakespeare dramatizes how ambition for power can drive people to make horribly bad decisions and actions.

Furthermore, people will do whatever it takes to achieve their goal and acquire their aspiration. Macbeth and Lady Macbeth plan to murder the king so that Macbeth will become the king. Lady Macbeth promises “ Shall the sun that morrow see… be beguile the time, look like the time… look like th’ innocent flower, but be the serpent under’t’’(I.iv.58-63). She so longs for her husband to be king that she plans the murder. After Macbeth kills King Duncan, he proclaims
