How far is one man willing to go to fulfill his desires? William Shakespeare wrote the drama titled Macbeth, which took place in Scotland1606, Macbeth has the conflict of being loyal to the King, Banquo and Macduff. One of the main themes of Macbeth is honor vs. disloyalty it affects mostly everyone in the story. This paper tends to focus on the disloyalty from Macbeth towards the King, Banquo and Macduff.
Therefore in this paragraph the disloyalty will be shown towards Duncan . Macbeth claims to have a lot of respect, and a close bond with the King, but from Macbeths mindset and actions it doesn’t show much respect for Duncan “First, as I am Kinsman and his subject, strong both against the deed.” (Act I, scn vii, ln13-14) This is an example of Macbeth trying to show his loyalty towards Duncan, but he is conflicted, as he also wants to be King. Macbeth says “The service and the loyalty I owe, In doing it, pays itself. Your Highness part is to receive our duties.”(Act I scn iv, ln 22-23) This example shows Macbeth being loyal to his King. If it find heaven, must find it out tonight.” (Act III scn i , ln 141-142) This is where Macbeth is planning on killing Banquo because he has suspicion about the death of the King. The next quote is Macbeth claiming to be his friend and wishing him safe travels, but really is plotting to kill him. “I wish your horses swift and sure of foot, and so I do commend you to their backs.
