People, even scholarly people, wonder if Macbeth is a true tragic hero. A tragic hero is defined as somebody with a fatal flaw that leads to their downfall. Characteristics of a tragic hero include having goodness or morals, superiority or high place in society, a tragic flaw that leads to their death, and eventually the realization that their final and fatal demise was because of their actions and nobody elses. Macbeth is one of the characters people are very unsure of. Macbeth possesses a lot of traits of a true tragic hero, but Macbeth is not a fully true tragic hero.
