On September 8, I was asked to take the MBTI assessment, and to be completely honest I didn’t know what to expect. This assessment was a series of questions that help you find out what job families are most compatible with your personality type. You are not limited to pick a job under these categories, but it is where your type will do its best. This is my opinions on the MBTI test along with the information I took away from the test.
My type was INFP. I is for introversion. Introverts are often more shy, when you go to a party you usually gravitate more toward your friends rather than trying meeting new people. P is for perceiving people who have a P often like to be spontaneous and keep their options open. I think this describes me well for the most part, how ever I could slightly disagree with the feeling one. Often times when I make a decision I usually prefer to think about the pros and cons of the decision. Although I do have to agree that some times I do let the feelings of others factor in to my decisions. I would also say that I’m defenently an introvert, however I am able to be an extrovert if need be. For example, I started to work at reebok and I needed to be able interact with the costumers and my coworkers it was a bit difficult at first but I eventually got the swing of it and it became much easier. I found out that I come across as friendly during interviews. Another thing I learned is that my personality type can overwhelm themselves with possibilities, so I need to prioritize information and decided what is necessary in order to make the right decision. In addition to that I found out that my personality type happens to like putting off decision making waiting for something better to come along. In order to avoid that I should make a deadline for my decisions. I was very surprised about what the popular occupations for my type Jobs like commercial art director, social science research assistant, psychiartrist and music director. Jobs such as these have never really interested me besides the music. I also never saw myself ever being involved in any of these jobs but they match my personality type which kind of confuses me. Another thing I learned is jobs I’m not compatible with cost estimator, electrical power installer, material engineer and mechanical engineering technician. I happen to agree with all of those because I don’t think I’d ever enjoy myself doing any of those
