In the 1910’s there were many weapons used to fight in World War I The Colt M1911A1 is a semi-automatic pistol that started being used by the military in 1911. The pistol was created by John Browning. The Colt was used in World War I and World War II and in many other battles. The Colt was a standardized sidearm that was given to the American troops. “The Colt M1911A1 is regarded by many as the most successful semi-automatic pistol design of her time - seeing consistent action in a plethora of conflicts during the 1900s” (Military Factory).
