Book by Lorraine Hansberry came from the root inspiration from Langston Hughes “ What happens to a dream deferred? Does it dry up like a raisin in the sun? Or fester like a sore--- And then run? He had many careless situations like selling the house and having to get it back, Not convincing his wife at first to keep the baby , and with travis not being real not talking with his wife first before giving him money and other things. Ruth said on pg.88 “ ‘ cause after all that liquor you come home with you ought to have something hot in your stomach.” For beneatha she had to find the fake her in order to commit to anything. The girl was a miser made the people around her miserable “ misery loves company “ . On pg.51 she save her faith up . “ ….. I don't believe in God.” on pg.77 She is explaining to Ruth a dance she learned from her culture she is into. She was called assimilationist on pg.63 . Ruth was a secretive person who didn't care if her son seen the struggle she to me wasn't trying to break generation doubts and curses she was bitter. She added more problems in some ways she knew that space was not available to bring a new kid and then she has the idea to abort the kid. Travis was just a huge dreamer
