Everyone of a conscious mind has a fear of something. Those certain individuals who say they are “fearless” are liars. Anyone and everyone who are “fearless” may not be scared of any physical being but are scared, sometimes horribly terrified. to fear. A child might fear being in the ocean or the dark; an old man, on the other hand, might fear losing mental capabilities or even life. Although fears might also change throughout a lifetime, most people do remain scared of something. Fear is one of the strongest human emotions and a great motivator. In “Lord of the Flies” there are two emotions that were dominant in the story, which was pride and fear. Fear is what motivates us to get an education, to get a job, and to get married. We fear not being able to get a job so we get an education, we fear dying alone so we have children who will love us until the day we part from this world. The text “Lord of the Flies” had an imaginary character in the story. The imaginary beast that frightens all the boys, especially the little-uns, stands for the primal instinct of fear and savagery that exists within all the boys. Also, in the story, the boys generated darkness in the process of the book.Finally, the motion fear is more dominant than pride in the novel “The Lord of the Flies” because of the fear each other that resulted savagery, silence, hysteria and judgement.
