He could hear them crashing in the undergrowth and on the left was the hot, bright thunder of the fire. He forgot his wounds, his hunger and thirst, and became fear; hopeless fear on flying feet, rushing through the forest towards the open beach. When the moment was right, Ralph gains the distance onto Jack, feeling the warmth of his breath on his slender, frigid arms. As Jack snores in deep slumber, Ralph cautiously seizes the specs. In the process of departing from the shelter of the beasts, Ralph realizes his opportunity to end the terror in advance. Ralph snatches the sharpened wood pole that laid along Jack’s arm and thrusts both his arms back. For a moment he paused, conscious of the consequences and the disappointment of his father, he ceases the final action of the spear. On the mountaintop, the sight of a bird of red and yellow catches the attention of his weary eyes. The moon behind it, gleamed perfectly around the bird as if an angel descended from above to deliver a message of reassurance. Upon leaving the territory, Ralph glances back at the pitied beasts as he returns to the
