Longmont Clinic Case Summary

The Longmont Clinic has been a difficult clinic to manage for a long time, even before this leadership team. It’s a small clinic and has three SEIU Stewards in the Primary Care area and one steward in Radiology the stewards are passionate about their role in the Union and will challenge the management team with all decisions.

SEIU Director Stephen Cousins has come forward with concerns regarding Longmont's MOD Dina Nichols, i.e., creating a toxic environment, doesn't work in partnership, targeting stewards with disciplinary action and concerns with employees using FMLA due to work stress.

The relationship between SEIU stewards and Longmont Management has always been challenging. It has escalated recently because of behavioral and performance
