Loggerhead Turtles In this image, there is a beach and there is a large caution sign for people to know that this area is restricted. Some letters are in bold and in all caps, while other writing underneath this is in a smaller font and all lower case. Underneath the smaller font it says,” Protected by Federal and State Laws.” With it being protected by the Federal and State Laws, there must be a fine if someone does bother these turtles. It seems like it is near some housing areas. On this sign it shows that this sign is located on a beach in South Carolina. The Department of Natural Resources had placed this sign on this beach. This image shows where the Loggerhead turtles lay their eggs. Since this area is off limits, what are some consequences for being in this area? What if someone was just walking through to admire these turtles and not to bother or harm the turtles. The message is to not come in this restricted area where the turtles are nesting. I feel like we should be aware of this issue and the meaning behind it. We should abide by the rules and the statement of this image. Since these turtles are endangered we should respect them in their nesting area. This image is straight forward and sort of a demanding. Sometimes placing a demand or restraint on something tempts people to do the opposite of what is said. For example, if there was a do not enter sign hanging up, there is going to be someone to enter anyways. Another example would be that there is a speed limit for the highway and it is up to the person behind the wheel to speed or to not speed. Humans can be selfish and stubborn and only think of themselves at times. They wouldn’t put this sign up just because they want to put it up.
