Public Safety or Customs

Arrivals/Departures Arriving at Logan Airport drivers are divided up into either one of two lanes, one being arrivals, and the other being departures. From that point there is lettered terminals arranged by Airlines and they range from Terminal A to Terminal E. As an SIE group our trip to London was a Delta flight we took Terminal A. Once reaching the Terminal there are designated areas for each individual airline in that terminal. For instance, once we reached Terminal A we looked for Delta Airlines in order to park curbside to take our luggage out. In order to keep traffic moving so new arrivals can be dropped off and to keep everyone safe, Massport security allows for cars to be parked for passengers

For this section of security, the passenger needs to have their boarding pass, passport, and a valid ID. This is where all airlines in that given terminal meet and form a line so expect to wait a while. Once the passenger finally reaches the TSA officer they need to have all the credentials readily available for verification purposes. The TSA officer asks for a birthdate in order to check the valid ID and with that done he/she can cross check the boarding pass and passport with the ID. This was a very quick process for our group due to the lack of flights around the time of our departure. After waiting in the atrociously long line due to the slow pace needed to ensure the safety of all passengers there must be many items available to be scanned. First, carry-ons need to be placed in a plastic bin to be ready for scanning. Items you need to remove from your bag include any laptop or tablet and liquids. The liquids one may have need to be placed in a clear zip lock bag and the individual liquids need to be three ounces or less. After that the passenger must remove any metallic items they have on their person as well as wallets, keys, phones, passport, coins, shoes, etc. Once all their plastic bins are sent through the scanners a TSA officer will send you through a full body scanner which will require the passenger to raise their hands and allow the scanner to scan up and down your body. After the passenger exists the full body scanners and collects their belongings out of the bins delivered from the other side of the scanner. Similar to the boarding pass/ID check there were little flights around our departure so we were able to breeze right through this checkpoint. Upon the completion of this crucial checkpoint it is time to seek out the gate where the passenger flight boards. Once at the Gate the airline employees will call your section of the plan where they mark your boarding pass and before you know it the wheels of the plane are

Rand Paul discusses multiple government bureaucracies and how they bully their own citizens by enforcing laws that are not clearly define. He discusses stories on how the EPA, TSA, FDA, and USDA have set in place many laws that are not clear and have fines that are ridiculous. He also puts forth his viewpoint on the Lacey Act and how it is "an open license for government bullying". Senator Rand Paul is a republican senator from Kentucky.…
