Link's Lynx: A Short Story

Link was an Iberian Lynx who lived in the Rocky Mountains in Alberta. He lived with a tribe of over a hundred other lynx. Link was the strongest lynx in the whole tribe which made him the leader of the hunting party. When Link hunted, he and his friends Winston and Apollo would try to scare the animal to make it go to where the rest of the hunting party was. One day when the hunting party was out, Link, Apollo and Winston were looking for deer, they saw people who looked like hunters! The hunters separated Link from his friends and then Link hid in a bush. Then he heard something he thought was the hunters! When he looked outside of the bush, he saw another Lynx twice the size of Apollo (who was the biggest lynx in the tribe) and Link saw that it was a female Lynx. They started talking and became very good friends. When they were walking back to the valley Link felt something sharp hit him in the side of his chest, then he blacked out. When Link woke up and he was in a cage with Lea and he saw Lea looking at something. Link saw lynx furs hanging up on the wall. Link and Lea were desperate to get out. Then the door opened and three hunters walked in. Lea jumped off of Link’s back and knocked down the hunters as soon as they walked in, and opened the gate. Link and Lea ran out the door as guns fired behind them. When they got into the mountains they found a cave and hid in it. The next morning the hunters found them again and Link cut his leg on a sharp rock. They hid in another cave and hunted for food. The next day the found Winston and Apollo and Winston said that the valley was over the mountain in front of them. All of the sudden RCMP officers were coming down the mountains surrounding them. Out of the blue the lynx tribe chased off the officers and then when the tribe reunited with Link and Lea, they
