Lina Kretzsky's Analysis

All hope was lost when Lina has been told that her father has been shot in prison. As snow fell on the ground, Lina’s mother was the first to be informed about the death of her husband, petrifying her to the point of not being able to physically move. Lina’s initial reaction to the unfortunate information was denial. She denied that her father had passed, but the thought began to swarm in her mind. Lina began to take out all of her anger on Kretzsky by shouting bitter words at him as if her father’s death was his fault. Kretzsky knew that he could not be able to comfort Lina, thus obeying her cruel words by walking away from the scene.
