My mother is a strong minded and honest person. My mother is a young spirit and loves to travel and go out. She is a great cook and doesn’t measure anything. She likes to remind everyone that she is always right. She is short and has medium brown skin. Her soulful eyes aren’t big but they aren’t small, they are a very dark brown. Her hands are small and rough with years of hard labour put into them.

My parents don’t let me work because they say I don’t need to. They say I should work hard in school, so I can have good grades. I try to organize my time, but it’s hard. Every teacher gives you an assignment that’s due that day or the next. I am going to graduate early. I will be graduating in December my senior year. They are allowing me to walk at the graduation ceremony with my class. Graduating early gives me the opportunity to strive for that goal. Since I have the plan to graduate early, I will work harder to turn in all my things on time and to have good grades.
While I was away for a week because I had oral surgery done, my grades were really bad. I’ve been having trouble getting caught up, but i’m getting there. I used to have four F’s and now I only have two. I would have had better grades by now, but I had no motivation to do good in school. I appreciate my mother talking to me about this. I know she tells me all this, because she wants me to be someone in

I have chosen to identify and relate five moral lessons, or lessons in general used in the story and relate them to life in the twenty-first century; a little side note, there are countless things in this story that are real “emotion pullers” from the simple caring for people, to much larger examples. However, I am going to stray away from the obvious examples, such as “Hey, let’s not have another mass genocide.” because that's too blatant and we know already not to repeat those things. First, the most apparent lesson is the value of friendship, trust, and support.…

The Hoyte-Johns family is one stop on the crazy train no one would want to miss. My father Trevor is 40 years old, my mother Charity is 50 years old, and I am 13 years old. My grandmother Phyllis also has lived with me since I was little. We are a sarcastic bunch with way too many jokes to make. My father cracking a joke, my grandmother insulting me, and my mother watching it all is usually the norm.…

I repetitively used the excuse that I was competing against the smartest students in the city, and that not doing well was to be expected. These low expectations caused my grades to plummet, and with my grades, my self-confidence fell too. By the time I was a sophomore, I was on the verge of failing all of my classes. I fell into a state where I believed that I couldn’t do anything with my life and there was nothing that I could do to change it. This toxic mindset bled into the other aspects of my life, inside and outside of school.…

Throughout my entire experience of school from pre-K to high school I have learned many things. In school we would always focus on English, reading, science, and math, all of which are helpful and a needed for life, but there was always one class missing that I wish the school curriculum had which was a life skills class. A life skills class would be a great addition to school curriculum because the world we live in today is constantly changing and students without the knowledge of life skills wouldn’t be able to adapt to the changes and would ultimately end up struggling to get ahold of their lives. A life skills class should be a required class that all high schoolers must take in order to graduate. Without a life skills class many students will leave high school in a…

A well lived life is also one that has been done with good intentions and positive perspectives.…

Life Lesson: Some people have to be told that something is wrong to realize it. Historical Support Paragraph One major life lesson I pulled from this unit is that some people have to be told that something is wrong to realize that it is. Around 1/3 of Southerners owned slaves (webquest 1).This fact can directly connect with my lessons, because this is something that we find very wrong today. However in that time period, this was considered normal. This might be because it wasn’t viewed as wrong in that time period, or nobody told them it was wrong.…
