I am writing this letter of reference on the behalf of Mabin Lee Womble. I have known Mabin for more than 20 twenty years, and he has always remained a member of the Asbury Park community where he has faithfully been a part of multiple community and faith-based events. Additionally, Mabin has had a long and productive career working and serving in the greater Asbury Park area. Mabin is a consistent and reliable person, and Mabin’s commitment to the children and residents of Asbury Park is decidedly compassionate and supportive. He really puts the concerns of others first and goes out his way to assist or help them, which is a remarkable characteristic to bear in today’s times.…

I hope this letter finds you and the rest of the family in good health. My parents and I are doing well, but we continue to worry and pray for our friends and neighbors who are either serving in the Union or have loved ones who are serving. My friend James was considering enlisting as a private in the New Jersey regiment, but a letter from his friend, George B. Wright urging him not to enlist has James reconsidering his decision. In the letter, George talks of the fatigue, and in his words, “your health would break down before you had been in service a month” (Lurie pg. 160).…

Dear J. Madison, I have the utmost respect for you, but something has been puzzling me lately, I simply cannot comprehend why you oppose the Connecticut Compromise so deeply. I despise that we are in an argument about the ways our government should work. The Constitution would not have been as grand as it is if not for you, however your Virginia Plan does not represent smaller states, such as my home in Connecticut, New Jersey, and many other states are in agreement. My idea is a compromise, which involves each state, it includes bicameral legislature, with one part proportional representation and the other half involving each state having one representative. I know you are a busy man, but I hope that you will consider voting for the good of…

To persuade the U.S army to feel remorse from devastating the Nez Perce, and to let the Americans know that the tribe is tired of fighting, Chief Joseph uses syntax by way of repition which effectively appeals to pathos.
