Could you please kindly provide Shaw with documented proof of expenditures for your car for the previous year.

Shaw provides you with a car allowance, of which a certain portion of the car allowance is tax exempt.We need this information to continue processing a tax exemption on your car allowance. The information is to ensure that expense are actually being incurred.

Shaw is required to collect the proof of expenditure, without the proof we cannot actually ensure that the expenses are incurred.

If you view the image attached below from the "circular" that is issued by the CBDT (Central Board of Direct Taxes), which issues guidelines for deductors (Shaw in this case), you will see that Shaw is required to collect evidence while
