Leonardo DiCaprio’s dream comes true when he met Pope Francis, on Thursday, to discuss environmental change.
Leonardo DiCaprio’s dream comes true when he met Pope Francis, on Thursday, at the Vatican. The meeting was set up by Milutin Gatsby. They discussed environmental changes. Their talk continued for almost 15 minutes. Leonardo along with his father, George DiCaprio, and the global fundraising chair for the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation, Milutin Gatsby, arrived at 11: 15 am.
After arriving at Apostolic Palace, Leonardo kissed the venerable Pope’s ring and stared his conversation by thanking him for granting Leonardo the opportunity to meet, in Italian language “Your Holiness, thank you for granting me this private audience with you.” In the meeting, the two men talked about, film actor’s charitable foundation and the way they can work on climate change.

Hieronymus was 15th century Dutch painter. The artist showed the Pope art work of painter “Garden of Earthly Delights.” It was a triptych, the first exhibited Adam and Eve in the panel, in the center panel there was a landscape, while in the third panel, there is an image of hell. Leonardo said “As a child I didn’t quite understand what it all meant, but through my child’s eyes it represented a planet, the utopia we had been given, the overpopulation excesses, and the third panel we see a blackened sky that represents so much to me of what is going in the environment,”
Leonardo DiCaprio, who is an Oscar nominee, presented the Pope a check from environmental philanthropy, started by him back in 1998. In turn, Pope Francis awarded him with a copy of Laudato (2015) and Evangelii Gaudium
