Dead opened the eyes of many people. It showed everything the men went through to fight for our country. Even though they made a few mistakes they were brave. They went through more than most people could not ever imagine going through and they get very little admiration for that. The USS Indianapolis was the ship that carried the bomb that ended World War 2. It was some of the men's first time to ever be a sailor on a ship. The ship had to have many repairs done but in some but since the ship was holding up just fine before the repairs the captain and the men thought they would be fine to continue without completing the repairs. They did not know what was going to happen whenever they left their families the day that they boarded the ship. If they did know what was going to happen then many of the men would not have gotten on the ship. Even though they did not know what they were about to experience they handled it exceptionally well.
The sailors on the USS Indianapolis could have made a few changes that would have allowed the ship to stay up longer. One of the things that they could have changed is that they had the hatches open. With them open it allowed water to fill the ship faster than it would if they were closed. They also did not have very good ventilation. If the ship would have been fully armored then the impact would not have been as bad. There were plenty of things the navy did not know, that had they been fully understood, might have prevented the disaster. There was nothing that they could not do to help the ship. It was the little mistakes that cost them the most.
The sailors on the USS Indianapolis were all very brave. The legendary sinking of the ship was not their fault. Technically it was none of their fault. It all happened because of the
Japanese men. Yes they could have changed some things that would have allowed the ship to stay up longer, but there is nothing they could have done to completely stop it from
