The aroma of ledum essential oil reminds me of the forest after a summer shower. It is strongly woody, a little wild and herbal, and just a bit astringent.

A member of the heather family, this aromatic herb originates in North America and is also known as Labrador tea. For centuries, this plant was used in folk medicine as a tonic and an early treatment for colds, scurvy, and kidney issues.

About Ledum Essential Oil

Ledum oil is steam-distilled from the leaves of the Rhododendron groenlandicum plant (formerly known as Ledum groenlandicum). The oil is clear, yet typically has a tint of yellow or brown. It is thin in consistency.

7 drops Grapefruit essential oil 5 drops Lemongrass essential oil 5 drops Cypress essential oil 15 drops Ledum essential oil ½ teaspoon carrier oil, such as jojoba or sweet almond

Blend the above and massage over the liver area. Cover immediately with a dry cloth, place a hot moist cloth over this, and cover both with another dry cloth.

Lie down and leave the compress in place for 20 minutes. Repeat this every other evening for 60 days.
