According to (Radnor and Osborne, 2013), the lean approach is famous in the health care environment for bringing tremendous reforms in the sector. Brandao de Souza (2009). Asserts that reason for the popularity is its ability to focus on customer satisfaction, safety, quality, and employee involvement suits the culture of most care centers. Shah and Ward (2007) suggest that there are five principles of lean that is value, value streams, flow, perfection, and empowerment. The first deals with an understanding value from the customer perspective, while the second defines the processes that will add value to the customer. These principles include, focus on the patient; design care around the patient; minimize wastage; identify value for the patient; reduce time to treatment and a patient remainder of the journey. The aim of this approach in the health sector is to streamline processes and optimize effectiveness and efficiency to deliver care and services when the patient needs them most and the way the patient require them. We dive deep into the concept of the Lean approach in a healthcare environment.
• Waste reduction – one of the primary role of the approach is to eliminate wastages in the healthcare system. As a result, there will be more time freed up for the staff to engage themselves in value addition activities. For instance, reducing the patient waiting time to see a physician.

For instance, it seeks to improve the efficiency and quality of the operational process. However, the approach puts more emphasis on streamlining the processes and waste management. The Six sigma applies statistical data to the process making even and precise. The aim of designing the six-sigma method was to eliminate defects in any system. On the other hand, the lean approach identifies the need for a given process first and evaluates whether the process adds value. It also aims at improving the process flow. As a result, enhancing productivity. Moreover, the process aims at a continuous improvement across the system by encouraging and promoting wastage management culture within the organization.
