Over the last several decades leadership research has proliferated to build our knowledge on “what constitutes leadership, where it comes from, how it can be measured, what contributes to its being ethical or unethical, how people see it differently and why, how the context alters its interpretation, and what happens when it is substituted for or replaced” (Avolio et al., 2003; Gardner et al., 2010). Thus, leadership is considered as a fundamental element in the survival and success of the overall organizations and business corporations (Schroeder, 2011).

These are based on other several attributes belonging to power influence, traits and skills, leader’s behaviours, situational approaches, reciprocal approaches and leader emergence (Clark, 2008). It has been identified that some individual led their followers within their organization by exercising power upon them (Burns, 2010). On the other hand, some of the leaders follow the path of the leadership based upon their individual characteristics and competencies possessed by them (French et al., 2011). Furthermore, it was also analysed that the leaders following the trait approaches often possess inborn characteristics and aptitudes within their personality that are then ultimately reflected upon their followers within their organization (Northouse, 2007). Likewise, it was also depicted that some leaders prefer to follow the goal and task approach to specify the shared objectives to their followers in order to accomplish organization’s mission.
