Rod stood by the vehicle door, staring at Cole, which at most times would have made the agent uncomfortable or impatient and drawn a retort from his partner, however Cole hardly even noticed. Valentina's voice had brought back memories and even as he taunted her in good humour, the man's mind was racing, running through all the possibilities for the call. Was it a set-up, a joke, was she simply taunting him with the possibility of Curic, or was she really that desperate that she needed his help.

If that were the case, she must be in some serious trouble, for what Cole knew of the woman, she wasn't one who often need, or wanted, the help of anyone else. Particularly Law Enforcement.

As the conversation paused and he awaited her reply, her finally caught eyes with his partner. Cole placed his hand over the received, and motioned with his arm to car, "An old friend," and nodded for the man to get in. Thanfully, he nodded back in acquiescene and as he he opened the door and climbed in, Valentina's voice cut back in, a low tone of static coming through the receiver when he hurriedly lifted it back to his ear.
