Art resembles that of a teacher. It takes viewers on a journey somewhere to a certain setting with something taking place despite its still nature. Art teaches many lessons in many different subjects. To put it simply, art is a form of expression in which one displays their knowledge or opinions. For example the painting Landscape With the Fall of Icarus by Pieter Bruegel the Elder tells the tale of pride, punishment, and the unsympathetic nature of mankind by using characters as symbols and colors to represent meaning. This painting was created to teach observers to be more compassionate in their life despite other focuses. Many colors have many different meanings throughout multiple different forms of art. Bruegel uses this technique to his advantage often by including colors that have similar meanings to the main point of the painting. To start with, green is a color that takes form in many ways on this painting. It’s on the trees, slightly in the water and in parts of the field that the farmer has yet to plow. Green usually represents life and fertility however, in this particular way it is almost humorous as the painting itself is really not a fan of life. For example, Icarus dying in the corner or even the field that the farmer is plowing has went from a vibrant green to a plain brown. The blue water is another form of color symbolism that takes place. Water and blue usually symbolizes purity and in the background the water does look very clean and pure. However, the water where Icarus landed is black and dirty representing the death and impurity from pride that Icarus brings with
