Lance Armstrong was born September 1, 1971 , in Plano, TX. His parents divorced at a young age, and his father had two other kids in another relationship. When he was 12, he started swimming and was 4th in the state of Texas in the 1,500 meter swim. Then when he was 13, he won his age group called Iron Kids. He went to high school at Plano East High, and graduated, but after graduation he joined the U.S. National Team. When he was 16 years old, he started competing pro. In 1992 he began his cycling career with the Motorola Team. From 1999 to 2005, he won the Tour de France 7 times consecutively. He won other things such as the World Championship 1993, U.S. Pro Road Race 1993, and the Tour Dupont in 1995 and 1996. In 1996 he was ranked #1
