Lactobacillus Reuteri

Lactobacillus reuteri first found in the early 20 th century but was mistakenly classified. Gerhard Reuter in 1960’s found the bacteria in the human intestinal and fecal samples. This microorganism was named Reuteri by Walter Dobrogosz and Ivan Casas in honor to the first person that found the bacteria in humans, the German microbiology Gerhard Reuter. In the early 1980’s Walter Dobrogosz an Ivan Casas discovered that L reutari is able to ferment glycerol resulting in the designation of a broad-spectrum antibiotic substance.
This gram-positive bacteria is found naturally in the human intestine, but in some cases is needed a dietary supplementation of this microorganism to treat and fight against others harmful organism, such as rotavirus that
