Kysland: A Narrative Fiction

It was a brisk.. and breezy evening struck by twilight's magic in the evergreen forest of Kysland; the country of the enchanted forests of this strange... yet intimidating world. The twilight's moon glistened like a pearl in the sky's violet atmosphere. The shimmering and glistering stars looked like still snowflakes when a few dropped around Keira's feet. She smiled with a look of bliss, alone to herself as the other children hopped and played without a care in the world.. A moment they should embrace while they still had it. Her black furry boots dangled and swayed gently when she tuned out the other children's to her obnoxious laughter. Some called it soothing, some called it a gift to hear a child's laugh. Pulling him up to his feet by taking his hand, she had to shift her weight back to pull his clunky coat and himself off the ice. "That was rude.. Are you okay?" She asked him when she let go of his mit. "Yeah... I'm fine. Besides.." He side glanced in sheer annoyance of his situation, "I have so many frickin' layers on that it's like bubble wrap." Keira once again couldn't help herself and burst out laughing like a cackling hen. The boy shook his head with a humored smile. "I'm Keira," She backed up, she was shy to approaching new people. Especially being alone from the other children, that just screamed she was aloof. "I'll never hear that name again, I'm Perry." He didn't seem to care that she glanced away from him, unlike most people he didn't question what was wrong if someone looked away. with a distant, melancholy look on her face. That expression changed to a helpless hope when she looked to the sky with a small smile. "I've always wanted to fly.. be free from other's judgement. I've always aspired to be like a bird.. Debut from this shell and laugh of rare bliss. And not have to worry about what everyone else will do. How it will affect me.. how I will be seen, if I'm useful, if i'm useless..." Her amber eyes widened and sparkled at that glorious thought of not having a worry in the world, "I don't want to be seen as this weird girl who can't express herself. Who can't open up to the world... I want to be a girl who's heard and respected. And to earn that respect, I have to earn it myself," She gazed thoughtfully at the stars, "I'll always wish upon the stars to be successful.. Even if they are only a

Around Antonius, frustrated men pounded their empty glasses on the table and cried for more alcohol, while tossing shouts across the room carelessly. Inwardly he cringed, wishing for the hundredth time he had picked a better meeting place, as an empty glass sailed inches away from his head and smashed onto the floor, shattering into thousands of small fragments. Most taverns drew in customers, but The Queen's Glass usually attracted the biggest, most violent, crowd. Especially on Sunday evenings. You just had to pick that one day out of the week when the tavern was full?…

Today is going to be just like any other day, I sketched in my morning journal. The morning Baltimore sun shone past the skyscrapers of downtown, and light protruded through the silk blinds that covered half of the picture window in my room. I rose up from my queen bed. The sheets had become untucked and the comforter lay halfway off the edge. My back rested against the mahogany headboard with my head fitting perfectly between two of the wooden posts.…

The grass is white which captures the reader’s attention immediately because of the contrast of reality. It is an unusual, yet ideal landscape for kids: it is soft, inviting, and safe. “The sun burns crimson bright” (4) which depicts a remarkable image of the sky in its most beautiful form on a warm, sunny day: perfect for playing outdoors. The peppermint wind vividly illustrates what this magical place feels and even smells like; what child would not want to visit a land where the breeze smells like candy? Once upon a time, there was a small, seaside town, along the coast of the vast Pacific Ocean, called Arcadia, and in that small seaside town, there lived a girl named Parker Garcia, who, with the help of some friends and maybe just a little magic, started a revolution that brought love and acceptance to the small town. The small town of Arcadia over looked the pacific ocean from a glorious cliff side that was carved with one of the only freeways in the town. Almost every morning the citizens of Arcadia were awoken at an early hour by the sound of a motor bike ripping along the freeway. Now most people didn’t mind the noise so much as they minded the rider. Parker Garcia was the town’s resident rebel and disliked by a fair few in Arcadia, especially…
