Kuru is a fatal and extreme rare nervous system disease. This was most famous in the 1950’s and 1960’s. Fore people from New Guinea performed cannibalism on copres during funeral rituals.Cannibalism is when human eat the flesh or internal organs of other human beings. Kuru means to shiver or shaking in fear these are some of the many symptoms. Other major symptoms are difficulty eating, walking ,involuntary movements, dementia, behavioral, and mood swings. In a year of contracting Kuru is usually deadly. It doesn’t have a cure that’s known but the study of the disease has helped scientific research and was the first neurodegenerative disease from an infectious agent. Overall Kuru impacts research on neurodegenerative diseases.

During this period, a samurai named Tokugawa Ieyasu was the shogun of Japan which was a political leader that was second in command after the emperor.
