Kobe Bryant is to be considered to be one of the greatest basketball players of all time. With 5 NBA Championships and an MVP award he not only backs up the fact that he might be the greatest with titles, but also as an individual with the MVP he obtained. His dominance in the game of basketball drives me to be like him. He is my role model in not just sports but also in life.
Kobe is a 6’6 shooting guard in the NBA that plays for the Los Angeles Lakers. He was born August 23, 1978. Growing up, Kobe, went to Lower Merion High School. During his high school career, Kobe absolutely dominated the teams he played against. He was a man amongst boys! In High School Kobe scored almost three thousand points, won a state championship and received honors for being a McDonald's All-American, Gatorade Player of the Year, and Naismith Player of the Year. His dominance and very good SAT score allowed Kobe to go to any college that he wanted to play for! But Kobe didn’t have his eyes on college, instead he wanted to go straight to the NBA and in the year of 1996 he declared for the NBA Draft. That year Kobe was drafted the 13th overall pick to the Charlotte Hornets and was then traded to the Los Angeles Lakers shortly after that. His work ethic was amazing and I admire that! During the off-season Kobe runs this program that most people call the 666 program. Every day he runs for two hours, spends two hours practicing basketball, and spends another two hours weightlifting for six days a week for six months. This is not only brutal on your body physically, but also mentally. Workout routines and programs like this are a huge reason why Kobe is so successful and I hope I can have the toughness and the work eithic that he has the do these workouts to become the best of the
