The UK is prohibiting terrorist propaganda and the laundering or fundraising of money for terrorist organizations. In addition to this, people who are suspected of taking part of terrorist activities overseas can have their passports confiscated, or their applications for new passports can be rejected for that sole purpose. All borders and modes of transportation are now given extra security measures in addition to places that have high volumes of people, which can be easy targets for terrorist attacks. In addition to simply adding extra security measures, there is a new program implemented for the intersectional forces of authorities. “Our Joint Emergency Services Interoperability [Program] (JESIP) concluded in September 2014. JESIP trained over 11,000 priority police, fire and ambulance service personnel, notably to improve crucial areas of communication between the services and contribute to more effective joint decision making” (The Secretary of State for the Home Department by Command of Her Majesty, 2015). To make sure the US is protected from all borders, in addition to assisting other countries under terrorist attack, the US is whole-heartedly involved in collaborating with other groups and organizations, like the UN. The focus of the US government is more so to protect other nations in addition to the US while preventing the spread of nuclear weapons and weapons of mass destruction (WMDs). The United States prides itself in its strong army that can be used to combat terrorism overseas while homeland security and other authorities in the nation itself handle situations there. In addition to this, immigration and visitation are monitored more, especially for people who come from terrorist hot spots.
Each nation has a tailored approach that tends to fit their country’s needs and values more. While the KSA has a larger threat of finding terrorists in their own country, the UK and the US do not. The US for example seems to be more involved internationally than the UK, which seems to be more preoccupied with the threat and spread of terrorism in the nations within the UK.
