An undercurrent of british influence is found in some artifacts from the roman time. It appears that it was from passing Ireland in the late roman and post roman period. The culture and language of the britons fragmented and much more of their territory was taken by the Anglo saxon. the extent to which this cultural and linguistic change was accompanied by wholesale changes in the population is still a matter of discussion. During that period of time some britons migrated to mainland europe and established significant elements.
