Kinetic can be defined as a study of the speeds or the rates of chemical reactions. The factors that could affect the rates of the reactions are physical state, reaction temperature, catalysts, pressure, concentration of solution, and reaction time. The change of the speed of the reaction can be predicted based on the different reaction conditions. Kinetic study is important because it can describe information about the reaction mechanism. The concentration has affected the frequency which the collision of molecules or ions. When the molecules are crowded and close to each other, the collision between them will occur and it will react with each other. Thus, an increase in the concentration of the reactant will increase the rate of reaction. …show more content…
In terms of oxygen transfer, reduction is a loss of oxygen. Reduction also was defined in terms of hydrogen, which is a gain of hydrogen. While in terms of electron transfer, reduction is gains of electrons. When the process involved the reduction reaction, there was always being oxidation takes place in the reaction. This is because both reduction and oxidation were known as a redox reaction, where both of the reactions are going on side-by-side. Vice versa, oxidation is gain oxygen, loss of hydrogen and loss of electrons. (Clark, 2013) In order to complete the oxidation-reduction reaction, they need some substance that can react with the solution, which is oxidized and reducing agent. Reducing agent is a substance which reduces something else by removing oxygen from other substances, give hydrogen or electron to it.
