Many of us know that it is used today as a tranquilizer to take down larger animals, but it is also used as a party drug in certain sub groups. “Starting in the mid- 1980’s the increase of social- recreational use of Ketamine was beginning to be linked to various dance cultures initially as as adulterant- an adding Ingredient that can altered the mind- of MDMA ecstasy” (Cesar web). This drug was abused when it first comes out but now it has a heavier abuse rate with individuals aging from twelve to twenty five years old. It's distribution is typically among social groups but it's most common place of origin is raves, nightclubs, and private parties. “This drug is responsible for 74 percent of emergency department mentioned in the United States” (K.A.S). Ketamine is very dangerous and has a high psychological effect. After taking the drug one experiences an instant increase of heart rate and ones blood pressure decreases. The user also experiences involuntary eye movement, dilated pupils, salivation, tear secretions and stiffening of the muscles. This drug will continue to be distributed among these places- raves, clubs, private parties and dance clubs. until something replaces it and then the young adults will switch to that. This drugs has been around for about hundred and seventeen years so from the research of Ketamine it's not going any where anytime soon. This drug will only get better once they find new ways to alter it once the body get used to it. Ketamine will always be a problem that will be hard regulate among these young adult, who are consuming this drug for a good time.
