There were a lot of intimidating groups of people just standing around staring at me. Once he got to his first class, the teacher made him introduce himself. “Hello, my name is Kepuha and I am from the village of Talofofo in the island of Guam.” Some people giggled at his accent, but he continued anyways. “I like to play football and baseball, and I like to spearfishing at the beach.” He sat down sulking at the kids laughing at him. He sat through the lesson because he had missed the first half. As lunch time came, he looked around for a place to sit with some kids he could become friends with, but to him, he thinks that his island pride doesn’t belong in Spanaway Hills. He sat down at a table with two other kids. They left the table almost immediately, almost as if Kepuha had a deadly infection. He had never felt so disrespected in his life. All the pride and honor on his name is being ruined, he is a disgrace to his family. He somehow has to become friends with people if he wanted to be normal around
