Project 2 contains information developed from the Pearson Higher Education Self-Assessment Library. A series of assessments were completed. The most significant information I learned is contained in step 1. Part I gave insights into my personality, that I am an agreeable person with a Type A Personality, and that my job satisfaction is overall low, even though I have high emotional intelligence and considered a leader overall. Part II shows that I need improvement in listening, faith in others, and disciplining skills.…

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator personality assessment is a psychometric questionnaire that helps individuals discover their personality or psychological type. After answering a series of questions, the results are compiled to determine if the person is sensing (S) or intuitive (I) , thinking (T) or feeling (F), introverted (I) or extroverted (E), judging (J) or perceiving (P). With the fore mentioned possible trait combinations, there are sixteen personality types possible. The test concluded that I could be four of the personality types due to the extremely slight percentage difference within two of the traits. Results showed I am 67% extraverted, 1% sensing, 1% thinking, and 33% judging.…
I took the Keirsey Temperament Sorter and the test told me I was an idealist. An idealist is someone who likes to develop who they are as a person to be the best of their potential as well as help others to get to where they are suppose to be in life. They are loving and very trusting and like to be knowledgeable. When I first got my results I was shocked. I never thought of myself to be an idealist, but after reading the characteristics and the other personalities I agree with this test.…

There are several widely used methods involved in personality assessment and controversies involving them. These personality assessment methods that would be used include interviews, personality inventories, self-reports, and rating scales (Ellis, Abrams & Abrams, 2009). The reasons for using these methods of personality assessment are based on their underlying assumptions, reliability (consistency) and validity. The interviews are used because it includes verbal and gestural elements pertinent to signaling of personality of a person being interviewed, while rating scales is a versatile technique. Self-report test is a convenient method of personality assessment in a more reliable and numerical measures.…
The Keirsey Report asked good questions to really help me think about what kind of person I really am. I concentrated on the wording of the questions, as you went further along I felt I could see the flow of the questions. Then I realized the questions were not asking me the same thing just worded differently, each question was truly different. Each question really made me question the scenario, and try to place myself in such a scenario. I would ask my 16-year-old son, and my husband what they thought and several times we had same answers.…
An empirical study of Keirsey Temperament Sorter (KTS-II) finds that students' personality type as measured by the KTS-II correlates to their performance as evidenced by course grade in an undergraduate business capstone course. The study also examines the association between gender and course grade. The findings indicated that personality types combined with gender produces students who outperform their counterparts. The results suggest that female students who are feeling and judging types performed better in the course than others in the class. Some educational and managerial implications are…
My personality type indicated by The Keirsey Temperament report is that of the idealist and I agree. It seems I always strive to discover who I am and how I am my greatest – whether it be professional, such as education or self-improvement, such as, better health. Inspiring others to visualize their dream or journey has led to lasting relationships. Always working with people, from my first job at McDonald’s, then a bank teller, dabbling in sales, and eventually a manager, I believe being friendly and getting along is the way to lead. An idealist is harmonious and gets along with people and works together for the benefit of all.…

The book “Please Understand Me II” has the Keirsey Temperament Sorter II questionnaire that examines the personality types of certain people. The questionnaire is a simple version of the famous Myers-Briggs intelligence test. The Myers-Briggs intelligence test is based on the research by Carl Jung, the psychoanalyst who founded analytical psychology. Carl Jung’s goal was to describe how people act in certain situations. The Keirsey Temperament Sorter II questionnaire includes seventy questions, in which participants will choose either letter “a” or letter “b”, based on what they feel most resembles them.…
Not only was this assignment interesting, but extremely informative, as well. While I have always known my personality type from Myers-Briggs, I had never actually sat down and analyzed much of it or even my leadership skills, for that matter. As for my leadership skills, they have always been lacking, as I tend to be a pleaser as opposed to being one that feels comfortable having control – it is intimidating and daunting to me. Nevertheless, this is not to be an assessment, but rather an evaluation and here are the results I have found.…

Guardians like to be the leaders of groups such as in the family, school, communities or work. I identify myself as having a Guardians temperament because I am the type of person who likes to have fun with my friends. At the same time take care of my responsibilities and duties.…
There is ongoing debate between developmental psychologists concerning the social, personal, cognitive, and behavior development of children. The debate revolves around the idea that either temperament or attachment is responsible for the process involving shaping infant personality. A more extreme approach of temperament theory proposes the notion that a neurobiological element ---say the amygdala---lies at the very heart of personality. In other words, a biological trait inherent in the individual accounts for personal differences in emotionality, sociability, and self-control (Papalia, Feldman, and Martorell, 2012). Accordingly, temperament is rooted in a biology-oriented paradigm by which infant’s dispositions are perceived as a function…
