Have you ever been pushed to the limit? Have you ever saw your life about to be taken? You just know you are going to die and you can't do anything about it. You just have to wait until the time comes and you are tired of fighting. Well, I have.
Kaitlyn and I are getting ready to go this party. Everybody is going and it's supposed to be huge. We showed up and it was as good as expected. We drank some and we smoked a little and some guys tried to get us to go home but we denied. Around 2 am we were ready to go. Kaitlyn ended up riding home with a guy so I was just going to walk home since my house was pretty close.
As I was walking I decided to stop at the old gas station to grab a bag of chips and a drink. The gas station was pretty sketchy

It was the doctor but he wasn't in his scrubs and at this moment I realized this man was no doctor he was no stranger. He was the man from the gas station that night. He was wearing his same outfit from that night and he was carrying a bag full of my stuff. I was so surprised and frightened. He introduced himself as Ed and he said that we will become very close. He pulls a knife out and slices a cut my leg. He then lets me out of the restraints only for me to fall to my knees from not walking in days. I was weak. He began to beat me and touch me, I pleaded for help. His so called nurses came in the room also in chains. He has held them prisoner, he kidnaps girls only to beat them and rape them. He continues to beat me and he laughs as he does it. He doesn't bluntly beat me. He teases with the idea. He will drag the knife across my throat, but not put enough pressure to make an incision. He throws me into a cage with the other girls and chains us to the bars. If we talk while he is in the room he whips us. When he leaves the other girls tell me that if I’m good, he will sometimes give me a piece of candy or a piece of bread. They said that every time he brings in a new girl one of the older one's gets killed. I let this information soak in and couldn't help but weep. He came in and grabbed me up by my hair only to rape and beat me a little more and when he finished he threw me back into the cage. I bled and he didn't care he would rip me up and not give me anything to clean myself

Over the time that I’ve been working on Women’s Suffrage it really has helped me gain lots of information on the 19th Amendment. In my story the main character is Kaitlyn, she basically telling you her story when the 19th Amendment was going on. The reason I picked Kaitlyn was because she is the same person as Alice Paul daughter. Alice Paul is a lady who played a big and important role on Women’s Suffrage. Alice daughter felt the same as Kaitlyn did.…

I couldn’t really get out of being named Ashlee either because it became my middle name. My mother chose to name me Kaitlyn because she thought it was a very uncommon name but little did she know that many other mothers had the same idea as she did around the same time I was born, give or take a couple years. My last name, Maestas, is a fake.…

When asked what makes a story good, Cisneros has answered that stories should make you laugh or cry. And if it is really good, she says, the story should make you do both. In her stories, she works at changing the ways her readers look at their worlds, helping them to imagine better ways to live. In these ways, her work is related to that of major local color writers of the nineteenth century, such as Sarah Orne Jewett. Cisneros had periodically written poems and stories while growing up, but it was the frustrations she encountered at the Writer's Workshop that inspired Cisneros' realization that her experiences as a Latina woman were unique and outside the realm of dominant American culture.…
