Part 1: A. Although not all people have served jury duty, almost everyone holds their own unique opinion and interpretation of what it signifies. While working one day at my job as a hostess, I caught up with my boss, Anthony, who shared with me his opinion of jury duty. Another adult I spoke to regarding jury duty if my coworker, Vanessa, who has had to serve jury duty once before. Vanessa was initially irritated by the idea of spending her time listening to other people’s problems while she can be doing more productive activates such as working one of her two jobs or cleaning her apartment. However, Vanessa tells me of the great experience it as to serve on a jury. “What an interesting experience, I would have never thought I would be so engage in the case.” Vanessa was even more thrilled to have found out that the jury duty did not interfere with her work schedule. She continues to tell me of all the rewarding information she had acquired and how she happy she got to receive a little extra money on the side for her service. I am in favor of the idea and responsibility of jury duty. I believe jury duty is an excellent way to get involved in the community and to help contribute to the greater good. This system tests the candidates chosen by allowing them to access a decision as to whether the defendant is just or is morally wrong. I believe jury duty is a very interesting and rewarding experience because it allows a person to be knowledgeable of recent events. The person chosen can then learn from the experience and carry what they have learned with them throughout their lives. Although some find this an unreasonable task to ask of anyone, these people do not want to take the time to learn about community news and issues. Allowing oneself to be involved in the community gains friends, knowledge, and joy. Jury duty should be viewed as another opportunity to experience these aspects of life and not as a
