Prior to my enrollment in this course, I had already taken several personality assessments, including the Jung Typology test. I retook the Jung test for this course, and my four-letter personality has remained the same. However, prior to this course, I had not heard of the DISC assessment. After completing both assessments and reviewing my results, I found that both tests profiled many of my personality traits similarly; on the other hand, there were significant discrepancies in my results from the two exams. The DISC assessment offered greater insight into personal effectiveness and my ideal work environment. I learned that there is still much room for improvement in my leadership style. The leadership styles the test suggested apply to me were very fitting. Both these exams asserted that I am a natural leader (my Jung Typology test identified me as “The Mastermind”), and my leadership tendencies extend to all aspects of my personality. In terms of improvement, to better my own leadership, the tests suggested that I should try being more warm toward unfamiliar people, as well as delegating responsibility to others and trusting them to uphold their responsibilities. I struggle with delegating responsibility because I expect such a high standard of excellence, so these suggestions are likely to improve my abilities as a leader.
In conclusion, the Jung Typology test and DISC assessment offered accurate personality assessments. The two tests provided similar results, further confirming their accuracy; however, they also differed in a few ways. Overall, these assessments offered me insight into my personality and leadership style. Using the knowledge from these exams, I can become more effective, both in my personal and professional life and in my leadership
