Judaism, Christianity, and Islam are the three major widely practiced religions of the world. Judaism, Christianity and Islam share some similarities and also differences. Judaism, Christianity and Islam believe that God is the creator and originator of all that exists. In this essay, I will discuss the founder of the religions, the religious beliefs, the area for place of worship, do these religions believe in afterlife, do most people work out a religion for themselves or simply follow their ancestors' religion? In over 3500 years ago in the Middle East Judaism was founded by Moses however Jews discovered their history back as far as Abraham. Judaism is one of the oldest practiced religions. The main categories of Judaism are Orthodox, Conservative and Reform. The Jewish culture place of worship is called synagogues and also referred to as the temple. Generally, men and women worshiped alone. The synagogue manages a cultural and political leadership in more conservative and traditional Jewish communities. In the Jewish culture the spiritual leader is called a Rabbi. Rabbis translate the Bible and present the meaning of Jewish law. …show more content…
At the age 12 or 13 Jewish children would stand before the congregation and read a section of the Torah in a ceremony called a bar mitzvah or bat mitzvah. Becoming a Jewish adult, there is a monumental celebration is held. Young men and women can now participate fully in traditions like fasting on Yom Kippur. The Jewish culture practice Shabbat. Sabbath is a day of rest and begins Friday night and lasts until sundown Saturday. The Jewish culture celebrates their own holidays and also eats kosher
