Rowling utilises multiple literary techniques throughout her novel series, Harry Potter, to convey the protagonist’s journey of growth to the reader. Rowling includes third person narration in her texts to convey different descriptions of Harry Potter, and how he feels to express how he matures when compared to the first and last books. The author utilises the use of Harry’s surrounding environment in order to place him in situations that causes him to mature and develop his knowledge due to the life-threatening circumstances he faces. Rowling utilises character development to its full potential, as this technique ultimately expresses to readers how Harry Potter has progresses during the series, due to the juxtaposition of Harry’s maturity between the first and final texts.
