However, money was not Bell’s primary motivation, Weingarten expressed “When Bell was asked if he’d be willing to don street clothes and perform at rush hour, he said: ‘Uh, a stunt?’ Well, yes. A stunt. Would he think it . . . unseemly? Bell drained his cup. ‘Sounds like fun,’ he said.” Weingarten also professed “‘Actually,’ Bell said with a laugh, “that’s not so bad, considering. Painted from sketches of his first trip west in 1859, "Indians Spear Fishing" depicts a broad landscape occupied by three native indians in a canoe. The lighting is lifelike and the landscape is incredible, emphasizing Bierstadt's vision of a perfect West. Many times have people made decisions in their lives that resulted in a punishment that may seem just or unjust. Although all carried out for different reasons, people’s crimes result in somewhat similar outcomes. With that said, the circumstances surrounding a crime are conditions that should be considered when sentencing a person in court, but they shouldn't be used as an excuse to mitigate a case down to nothing. In the case of Carl Lee Hailey, I think his mindset is essential to look at and is important enough to take into consideration when charging him for the crimes he committed; it is also essential to keep things lawful and present justice to all.…

These Americans moved west to establish their farms in what was considered territory inhospitable to farming. These farmers claimed land under the Homestead Act, and also bought land outright as well. The land was adapted and American farmers began to learn the ebb and flow of business in West’s farmlands. The argument to which Singer lays his claim would be pragmatic in an idealistic world. However, this world in which human existence thrives is far from being in a state that is unimpeded by flaws. Singer argues that those who earn enough to spend their extra money on luxuries should instead donate those funds to overseas organizations to help combat poverty. This proposal is unrealistic due to reasons that you can’t expect beings who carry faultful qualities to amend their ways without delay. Many individuals who have become accustomed to living an affluent lifestyle, will feel reluctant towards Singer’s proposal due to the fear that it will jeopardize their comfortable way of life.…
