Jonathan Swift was an Anglo-Irish. He was a satirist, essayist, political pamphleteer, poet and cleric who became Dean of St Patrick's Cathedral Dublin. Some of his work that people remember him by are Gulliver's Travels, A Modest Proposal, A Journal to Stella, Drapier's Letters, The Battle of the Books, An Argument Against Abolishing Christianity and A Tale of a Tub. He was known for his different type of writing. He had an interesting life and career as an author.
First, Jonathan Swift was born on November 30, 1667 and died at the age of 78 years on october 19,1745 in Dublin, Ireland. He was the youngest and only son of two siblings. He had one older sister. He was named after his dad, Jonathan Swift. His mom’s name was Abigail Erick. He never met his father, he died a few months before Jonathan was born. Moreover, Swift was a sickly child. It was later discovered that he was inflicted with a condition called Meniere's Disease; a disease of the inner ear that leaves the afflicted nauseous and hard of hearing. In 1682, Swift entered Trinity College where he graduated without outstanding result at this college.In 1688, he moved to England because there was political crisis in Dublin where he had hoped to be accepted in the Anglican Church. While he was in England he became secretary to Sir William Temple a diplomat and a renowned writer at Moor Park in Surrey. In 1692, with Temple's assistance he received an M.
