John's Murder Case

Improved Essays
I don't believe John committed the murder since the crime scene was remarkably sloppy. There are two main pieces of evidence that bring me to this conclusion the location of her blouse and her bruises. Even John is her abusive ex husband he still a cop who is familiarized with the knowledge of crime scene protocol and arson crimes the sloppiness of the crime illustrates lack of knowledge. He would know that investigators would find the blouse when doing a search of the house. Basic police education would provide him with the knowledge that strangulation and bruises would be distinguishable on burned

Case Study Type of Homicide The following is a case study of Simon Gittany and the intended murder of Lisa Harnum. First it must be understood that murder is a reckless act with intent to kill or grievously injure another (NSW Criminal Code Act 1900). It is known that Ms Harnum was the fiancée of Gittany (R v Gittany, 2013) and, as mentioned by Carcach & James (1998), this is an example of Intimate partner homicide, a murder between two people in an intimate relationship. On the 30th of July, 2011, Lisa Harnum was unloaded from the 15th floor of “The Hyde” apartment building to her death.…

Q1 The Simon Gittany Murder Case features an intimate femicide. This is evident in how the perpetrator, Gittany, behaved and how he treated his partner, Lisa Harnum, prior to her death. Intimate femicide almost always consists of the perpetrator being possessive and controlling of his partner, and also features a sudden outburst of rage before the homicide takes place. Both of these factors occurred in the case, and were thus referred to domestic violence.…

Before Rachels stated his stand regarding the cultural judgment of the “excision” he stated that we, all of the cultures should have at least some of our values or moral codes that each culture has in common. Rachels gives the example of Murder and lying to make his point that we all have some moral codes or virtues that are universal by stating “…there are some moral rules that all societies must have in common, because those rules are necessary for society to exist. The rules against lying and murder are two examples. And in fact, we do find these rules in force in all viable cultures. Cultures may differ in what they regard as legitimate exceptions to the rules, but this disagreement exists against a background of agreement on the larger…

    Murder Of Jim Vs Edward

I do not believe that the murder of Jim by Edward was a bad choice by the director - Tim Burton - and did not make the film too dark, because, quite frankly, one of them was going to kill the other, and it seemed more justified for Jim to die rather than Edward. It was more justified for Jim to die rather than Edward because first off, Edward is the main character, and though Jim was killed quite near the end of the film, it is very rare for a director to kill off the main character of the film (unless of course you are Shakespeare, then it is excruciatingly common). This made it that it was unlikely, and slightly a dead giveaway that Edward wasn’t going to die, but since it was also obvious that one of them was going to die, it was slightly…

According to Linedecker, “A young man told police that he was standing on the street corner when Gacy swung his car toward the curb, flashed a badge and identified himself as a sheriff’s deputy. The young man was order into the car un the threat of arrest…After he got into the car he was forced to perform oral sex on the driver” (1980, p. 61). The case was never brought to trial, but for the next six years Gacy’s name would not be named to the police in a complaint. Gacy would often pretend to be a police officer, with a badge, and blue flashing lights to gain his victims trust or at times force them into his car against their will.…
