Have you ever enthusiastically followed a series of videos or dramas, which unfortunately is made in another language? Video sharing has become a significant part of people’s daily entertainment in the modern society, and such need created an emergence of abundant video producers for the need of various types of video. However, due to the process of globalization and introduction of the internet, people also began to found their own favorite series often made in a language beyond their lingual capabilities. For example, large number of American teenagers eagerly follow Japanese anime, and in China, some (in fact, roughly a million) people even found interest in Jon Stewart’s television shows! Thus the need for “subbers”, people who make translated subtitles on videos for the need of foreign fans, comes in. While some do work for the sake of profits granted from the original video producer, most subbers are in fact working out of joy from being able to …show more content…
Though some video producers are kind enough to provide you with the most detailed video script, creating your own script is yet essential in making an accurate subtitle product. For example, while you are copying down what has been said, you should often refer to standard rules of grammar and spelling to check the quality of the script, since some words or phrases pairs such as “they are” and “there” and “this” and “these” are often indistinguishable merely by listening. On the other hand, there is always an important check to make sure that you are on the right track: does it make sense? Unlike streamed videos or other poorly planned videos, most of the well-planned video products would have every individual sentence easily comprehendible, and when you found this not to be the situation when you are making copied script, you should first question whether is somewhere in your own work

In my argumentative essay I defend why football is a dangerous sport and should be avoided with young children ages 6-12. My previous essay used data from secondary sources and primary sources, however supporting my stance with only words was a challenge. Without visual and audio elements I felt I had trouble communicating with the reader. My remediation into a prezi uses a combination of videos and images to present the consequences of playing football. To support my claims I use evidence from expert researchers and certified doctors.…

Situational Comedies, or more frequently referred to by their portmanteau, Sitcoms, are largely a product of the minstrelsy's formula for success. After thinking on the topic of stereotypes as a means of entertaining people in theater, I can easily think of many shows that utilize this style of humor to create their characters. In the TV Series "Taxi" Danny DeVito plays exactly what you would imagine of a New York small business owner, he's rude, arrogant, self-centered, but despite all of this, his character is hard to hate. Some of the rest of cast there's the dumb military man, the janitor with a screw loose, the confident snarky New Yorker. Jumping forward a decade to the 90's, the show "Friends" debuts Lisa Kudrow's famous character Phoebe, the ditsy blonde that was nominated for Emmy Awards 6 years in a row.…

Films are products of their time and evolve as American culture evolves. As such, directorial use of existing technology, and the cultural desire for improved movie-making have led to the development of the motion picture industry. “To most people, a movie is popular entertainment, a product to be produced and marketed by a large commercial studio. Regardless of the subject matter, this movie is pretty to look at – every image is well polished by an army of skilled artists and technicians” (Barsam & Monahan, 2016, p.3).…

Intellectually, the breakdown process requires attention to detail and organization. You must identify scene numbers and resources (Landry 786) to transfer to the breakdown form to properly manage the film and to let everyone on set know what is needed. Therefore, if one misses a resource or wrongly identifies scenes, the breakdown and process of shooting the film could be very messy and less productive. Properly identifying elements required in the breakdown process (Landry 782) allows for the job to be completed faster and more efficiently since everything that is required for the film is organized by scene and later organized into a schedule. I can compare this process to the work I had to do at War Eagle Production's, Auburn Athletic's Video Department, last year.…

Introduction The general idea of this work is to explore the role of dubbing as a method of the audiovisual translation and how it is performed in superhero movies produced by Marvel Studios. Dubbed movies have become popular among young audiences, for example, the ‘Shrek’ series, as well as in many European countries where movies or TV series are dubbed even for an older audience. The superhero genre has joined this trend, for example, in Poland every superhero movie has its dubbed version since it reaches a wider audience than subtitling. A good dubbed movie requires many factors which must be executed perfectly, especially in superhero movies, where some of the characters wear masks.…
